Athletics Australia Coach Framework
Athletics Australia are the accrediting body for all althletics coaches in Australia. All courses are approved by the Australian Sports Commission's National Coaching Accreditation Scheme. The Athletics Coaching Accreditation Framework is designed to progressively introduce the coaching skills required to develop athletes from beginner to elite. The framework is designed to allow coaches of all levells to master their coaching. Accreditated Coached are supported by ongoing formal and information education opportunities to ensure the quality of coaching remains high across Australia. Track and Field Pathway
The Track and Field Pathway targets the more traditional Athletics coach by focusing on developing a coaches understanding of funamental movement skills specific to the various events included in the sport.
Course Progressions:
Level 1 Community Athletics Coach Course
Prerequisites: There are no prerequisites to the Level 1 Community Athletics Coach Course.
Prerequisites: Level 1 Run Leader Course or Level 1 Community Athletics Coach Course.
Level 3 Performance Development Coach Course
Prerequisites: Level 2 Club Coach or higher and a minimum of 12 months coaching experience.
Recreational Running Pathway
The Recrational Running Pathway targets indificuals that are interested in leading running groups that are training for fun run events, 5km to marathon events and for health and fitness purposes. This pathway is also suitable for certified Personal Trainers interested in becoming more involved in the Recreational Running space.
Course Progressions:
Prerequisites: There are no prerequisites to the Level 1 Run Leader Course.
Level 2 Recreational Running Coach
Prerequisites: Level 1 Run Leader Course, Level 1 Community Athletics Coach Course, or Certificate III or IV in Fitness.
