New World Athletics Shoe Rules
New World Athletics Shoe Rules - as at 1 November 2024
World Athletics has approved new regulations for shoes worn in high-level competitions. From 1st November 2024, athletes will not be permitted to wear footwear with a stack height of over 20 mm. The current regulations allow a 20 mm stack height for sprint and hurdle events up to 400 m, and a 25 mm stack for 800 m events and longer distances.
As is common practice in Australia, this applies to the Under 20 and Open age group for able bodied & para as well as anyone setting an age group record for Queensland and Australia.
This applies to all World Ranking Competitions and National Championships for the applicable age groups as above.
