The philosophy of the club is to assist members to achieve their goals at their own pace. The club caters for all levels of athletes from the casual runner to the elite athlete. Our emphasis is on participation, having fun and developing friendships.

Aspley Athletics

Aspley Athletics is a small community based athletics club that strives to give young and developing athletes the opportunity to experience the sport at all levels. We work alongside Aspley Little Athletics Centre to provide a pathway for athletes to continue their athletic development and to provide additional opportunities to compete at Queensland Athletics events. Additionally, Aspley Athletics aims to provide a seamless transition for young athletes progressing into Queensland Athletics. Aspley Athletics covers all athletic events, except Pole Vault and Hammer Throw. We do our best to encourage the local community to come down and give track and field a go.

 

Aspley Athletics will actively encourage athletes of all ages to join and compete in Queensland Athletics events.  Our goal is to grow in membership and enter as many individuals and teams as possible in Queensland Athletics competitions including state relays and championship events.

Athletics North (est 1991) was formed by the union of Kelvin Grove and Nundah Athletics Clubs. Its focus in recent years has been on grass roots running development with an emphasis on middle to long distance training and cross country. We have a vibrant junior sprinting squad as well as squads throughout the northern and western suburbs providing quality developmental and elite athlete coaching.

Beginner Groups

We offer beginner groups catering to those just starting out running. Non intimidating environment, fun and friendly organised by experienced coaches who understand the limitations surrounding the first few steps to becoming a runner.

Advanced Groups

By no means do the advanced groups mean you need to be fast. It simply is designed for those runners who are aiming for a personal best time who regularly attend training sessions with a goal in the near future.

Kid Groups

Catering to children under the age of 16. The kids training groups are coordinated by experienced coaches who understand that running needs to be all about enjoyment at a young age with the view they can be runners for life. Two sessions are available each week involve; warm-up, running form drills, the session and completed with a game to warm down.

Mayne Harriers Amateur Athletic Club

Mayne Harriers was founded in 1914 and has a proud history or providing training and competition opportunities for athletes of all ages and abilities, from recreational to Olympic level for more than 100 years. Our visions and purpose is to support the continued development of athletes in the inner northern suburbs of Brisbane. Toowong Harriers Athletics Club, established in 1894, is proudly Queensland’s first athletics club and one of Australia’s oldest with an impressive lineage of State and National representatives. As a Queensland Athletics (QA) and Queensland Little Athletics (LAQ) Club we provide athletics pathways to the community from Kids to Masters (35 yrs+) at all levels of ability to be involved in an active lifestyle to find the joy and benefits in athletics and running. UQAC is a club setup over 100 years ago to provide athletic opportunities for the University population, but it also provides opportunities for the general community to access athletics opportunities as well. It is fortunate to have available for its members to train and compete on an internationally accredited track and field facility with associated equipment. Its members are encouraged to compete in the Qld Athletics summers and winter inter club competitions.
